A Jupiter resident narrowly avoided losing $10,000 in a sophisticated Bitcoin scam.

the Jupiter Police Department (JPD) said its detectives and officers had distributed scam warning flyers, which helped the resident recognize the fraudulent transaction just in time.

The JPD emphasized the importance of prevention and quick response in combating such scams.

Residents are urged to be cautious of requests for payment via Bitcoin, gift cards, or wire transfers, as these are common indicators of scams. The department advises residents to contact them at 561-799-4445 if they encounter such requests.
